Master and Commander A Russell Crowe and Paul Betany must see! A story of two friends in the English Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. There is something very compelling about the sacrifice, the discomfort, and the sheer difficulty about naval life during this time frame. […]
A Sibling’s Perspective There are dozens of articles about what it’s like raising a child with special needs from the Parent’s viewpoint, but not too many about what it’s like growing up with a sibling with Special Needs. My husband and I have the […]
Character has many definitions There are two definitions that I would like to talk about that I think gets confused today… at least one definition seems to dominate over the other. When we talk about building Character, what I believe we are referring […]
If you go by the idea that 10,000 hours of practice makes you an expert, then my wife and I qualify as child rearing experts, right? Wrong. Maybe it would if kids did not change the rules every 24 hours. My wife and […]
Let’s talk about something controversial today What is up with male fashion? Before I go too far I have to make a disclosure, If you peruse through my wardrobe you would undoubtedly say, “this man is not allowed to have an opinion on the subject […]
Who does not like a good motivational quote? A one sentence line that sums up an abstract idea of how we can excel. Well, there is always that guy, you know the one, (or in my family, 7 different ones 😉 ) who […]
Unlike most folks I do not make New Year resolutions Not because I don’t believe in resolutions, but because I know me and after Christmas I am not going to be hitting the gym every day, nor will I be likely to skip Netflix […]
Who is the greatest negotiator in the world? Perhaps top on a list might be one of the richest men in America, Microsoft’s, Bill Gates or perhaps Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, a man whose company posts minimal annual profits but boasts something like 30 billion […]
We have 3 toddlers and another little one on the way. We love having lots of kids, but it can get a little crazy sometimes. There are certain household items that have proven very helpful in keeping a calm(er) household, especially when it feels like […]
There are a vast number of websites, trainers, well intention-ed friends and relatives that have an opinion on the one surefire of getting in shape. We have all been there. One friend says you should do cross-fit because everything else fails. Another claims cross fit blows […]
Hi! We are so glad you’re here! My husband and I started this site to share the little adventures of our growing family!
I’m just a mom of three adorable little Critters. I have a charming husband who inspired me to go way out of my comfort zone to meet new people and challenge myself to try something new and adventurous every week. What better way than to make a website and share it with everyone, yikes! Yes, my husband is the adventurous one….and I am not. BUT! Stick around, cuz I’m really trying to explore new ways of staying healthy, being frugal and finding clothes that perfectly fit a 6’2″ Texas mama. All that and simultaneously trying to raise 3 kidlets under the age of 3... More coffee, anyone?
Anyway, we live in the suburbs of the beautiful Lone Star State! We are always trying to find better ways to live a little healthier and become a better people every day. Our ultimate goal is to get a small farm, with a chicken or two and maybe a small goat, because, you know, we’ve never had animals before and that would be cool and exciting.
So, please join us and learn together as we travel outside our comfort zone to make our families a little healthier and a little happier!
